Ethanol using Immobilized Cell Bioreactor, Ultrafiltration, and Reverse Osmosis. Researched ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis protein separation of chesse processing waste, with continuous immobilized cell fermentation conversion of the remaining sugar into fuel ethanol.

Biodiesel Batch Manufacturing. Responsible for business and technical operations in the conversion of waste vegetable oil into biodiesel inclusding feedstock procurement, biofuel manufacturing, and fuel delivery.

Glycerin By-Product Development. Developed a novel technology to remove impurities from crude glycerin, a biodiesel by-product, which eliminated problems with glycerin processing.

Biodiesel Continuous Process. Co-designed a continuous rapid transesterification and washing of refined vegetable oil into biodiesel.

Microfiltration with Coal Gasification. Operated pilot-scale microfiltration to remove ultrafine particles from coal gasification wastewater.

Membrane Bioreactor. Solved problems in the conversion of cheese processing waste into methane gas using an anaerobic membrane bioreactor.

Landfill Gas Barriers. Evaluated in-situ containment alternatives to prevent the migration of landfill gas.
