Evangelista built an environmental periodicals collection for Southwestern College student research with materials from the US Environmental Protection Agency and donations from his personal collection.

Evangelista also developed the environmental video collection at the Southwestern College Learning Resource Center by repeatedly obtaining videos from several government sources, including the EPA ERT, the State of California, and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
