Printed Materials. Evangelista created a brochure, two handouts called the Environmental Management Course Offerings and Occupational Health and Safety Course Offerings and a program flyer for the Southwestern College's Environmental Technology program.

 

Outreach to High School Students. Evangelista did direct marketing of the Environmental Technology program to high school seniors and their academic counselors regarding the environmental industry, the types of environmental jobs, the salary range, and the Environmental Technology program at Southwestern College.

 

Outreach to Military Bases. Evangelista gave a presentation and wrote a proposal to establish a memorandum of understanding with the Naval Campus Education Center to put in place a service provider agreement. Evangelista also made presentations to enlisted Marines stationed at the Mia Mar Naval Air Station regarding the Technology StrawBaleHouseTrip1program.

 

College Academic Counselors. Evangelista made a presentation to the academic counselors to reacquaint them with the Environmental Technology program, introduce program changes, and discuss strategic goals.

 

Partnership in Environmental Technology Education. Evangelista attended monthly regional meetings, and attended the annual symposium.  PETE provided coordination, training, and materials for the Environmental Technology programs nationwide.

 

South County: Defining Our Future Forum. Evangelista was part of a public-forum, South (San Diego) County Regionalism whose purpose was to facilitate and catalyze civil dialogue and identify critical regional information in the binational San Diego-Tijuana area.  Evangelista's presentation addressed regional environmental issues and offered the college as a leader in implementing the potential solutions.

 

Environmental Technology Advisory Committee. Evangelista assembled an Advisory Committee from government and industry representatives of the San Diego-Tijuane Region as a “think tank” for environmental education.  Committee members were chosen for their understanding of the environmental industry and its regulations.  Evangelista made a 1998 presentation and a 1999 presentation to the advisory board.

 

Environmental Conference. Evangelista co-led a conference on sustainable development and permaculture at Southwestern College as an exploration into sustainable techniques to preserve the US-Mexico border region.  The conference attracted over one hundred attendees.
