Biodiesel Technology Development. Lead a technical group in the construction and operation of a unique pilot plant to develop a rapid continuous-flow biodiesel process. Developed an novel approach to the conversion of crude glycerin, a problematic by-product, into a value-added product, USP glycerol.
Process Engineering. Substituted a reagent to save $1.5 million per year. Part of a team that performed a process hazard assessment (HazOp). Calculated a heat and electrical energy balance. Integrate with and oversight of equipment vendors and design engineers.
