Nevada County (CA) Hazardous Waste Task Force. Evangelista was avoting member that advised the County Board of Supervisors on environmental matters, and co-development and implemented environmental outreach programs for hazardous materials management, waste minimization, and pollution prevention including
- organizing and running household hazardous waste days
- creating a depot to accept waste batteries, oil, and paint
- identifying and awarding small businesses for their waste minimization and/or pollution prevention eforts
- developing brochures, newspaper, and TV advertisements on non-toxic alternatives to hazardous materials
- surveying the public to evaluate Task Force outreach programs
Print Media. Wrote articles on environmental problems including the effects on air quality from burning wood and the Sherman Antitrust Act violations in municipal waste hauling.
Earth Day Co-coordinator for Nevada County, CA. Planned the lecture series, obtained speakers, set up the lecture venue, co-hosted the lectures, and worked as a public liaison
